Church Update

November 2020 - Church Update (Video & Script)

On Tuesday the 3rd of November, the Leadership Team of Lincoln Baptist Church met to review the current situation of Online Church.

Over the last month, the leadership had made steps to consider what being back in the church building would look like. The building had been measured to consider how many people could attend, a welcoming team had met to discuss the appropriate ways of entering and exiting the building and the leadership had begun putting together a structure and plan as to what a return would look like.

However, taking into account the current national lockdown lasting till the 2nd of December, and the increase of Covid-19 infections and subsequent deaths in our nation, the leadership has decided to continue with online church until mid-January. In January, the leadership team will once again review the situation and update the church accordingly.

Yes, this means that the church will remain online throughout the Christmas period. We have already begun putting together plans for our Christmas program and we pray that many will still hear the message of Jesus and accept Him as Lord and Saviour this Christmas.

We have to be open with the church family, as a leadership team we are hurting. We want to be a physical church again, we want to see you, we want to hear the word of God preached in the building and to experience the beauty that is the Church of Christ meeting physically to celebrate Jesus. We feel your pain and we understand your frustrations.

Yet when I look back and remember the Lockdown that began March of this year. I remember how the church mobilised and showed care and love toward others. I remember the countless phone calls being made, the shopping bought for the elderly and shielding, the cards of encouragement sent to one another, the emails to spur one another on, the joy of hearing of how online church is reaching so many and the growth both numerically and spiritually that the church experienced.

When I remember, I am humbled and encouraged to know that this is my church family. Friends let me encourage you, through the power of Jesus Christ, we Can keep going. Be the church, get on those phones once again lift one another up in prayer. Get those fingers typing emails of encouragement. Be on the lookout for those in need and make steps to cover those needs. Through the Grace of God, we have once again been given the opportunity to trust God, to serve God, to Love others and to make His name known amongst the nations.

I know that there is a compassion fatigue, I know we are tired of zoom and YouTube. But friends, Jesus is still our Saviour. The message of the Gospel still needs to be spread, hearts still need to be transformed by salvation in Jesus. God still calls us to be the church, to preach His word, and to lead the lost to the Saviour of Jesus Christ.

Throughout the coming months we will continue to have:

-       Daily Verses

-       Daily Worship

We will also have a host of other resources and events throughout the Christmas Period. Please do subscribe to our YouTube channel, to Soundcloud, Spotify, Podcast and keep an eye on the website for access to all events and material

It is important that you are all aware that our LIFT ministry will continue throughout the next two months. The team are always looking for volunteers, so if within the current rules you are willing to volunteer please do get in touch. At the very minimum we would ask that you continue to pray for the team during the coming weeks.

Let us be praying that souls would be saved during lockdown 2, let us pray that the children of God would grow in their faith during lockdown 2, and let us pray that the Kingdom of God would be glorified during lockdown 2.

We miss you; we love you and we are praying for you!On Tuesday the 3rd of November, the Leadership Team of Lincoln Baptist Church met to review the current situation of Online Church.
