LEADERSHIP

Richard Windle

Church Secretary

Responsible for: Sunday services, worship

I became a Christian as a teenager and have been a member of various Baptist and FIEC churches as I have moved around the country for work and study. I have been at Lincoln Baptist Church since 2000, when I moved to Lincoln with my wife, Grace and our family. My main areas of work within the fellowship have focused on the worship group and our young people.

I’m an Associate Professor at a local university where my teaching and research focuses on digital technology use within health care and medicine. I like to run to keep fit. My family and home life keeps me busy, but for relaxation, it’s about the bass! I play tuba in local brass bands and I am also learning the bass guitar.

My passion for LBC is for us to be a church that is accessible and open to everyone, takes the spiritual growth of its members very seriously and most importantly puts Jesus at the centre of all we do.

Marion Watson

Finance Officer

Responsible for: Finance, Safeguarding and Family Ministries

I am married to Mark and we have two grown-up sons. I have been a member of LBC for over 40 years and have attended this church all my life. I have had different roles within the church over this time including leading under 11s children’s outreach, being part of the worship team and projection team. I am currently the Church Treasurer and deal with all things finance related.

After over 25 years as a headteacher of a primary school, I have now retired. I enjoy time with my family and am starting to settle into this new chapter of my life! I look forward to seeing what the Lord wants me to do next. I enjoy all things creative including singing and am a member of a local choir.

I am married with three children.

I have been involved in the youth club at LBC. I am also involved in international mission through Shepherd Food Ministries which works to relieve food poverty among vulnerable people in Nigeria. I have a passion for travelling, meeting people, reading and charity. I am excited about my new role as a church leader and looking forward to giving my best.

Nic Hasnip

Responsible for: Teaching, Pastoral Support

I retired as a Baptist Minister in August 2020 after 22 years of ministry, my wife and I knowing the Lord's leading of us to join Lincoln Baptist Church and play our part in the Church's avowed aim 'To make and grow disciples in Jesus'. Recently, I was humbled to be asked to join the Church's Leadership Team and be involved in developing the pastoral and teaching work of the Church. I also lead a preaching class of 4 of our men: they are an inspiration to us all, under God, and it is a joy to assist prayerfully in their development.

God has played an integral part in my life since my late teens when he convicted me of my sin and convinced me of the truth of the gospel, and I became a Christian in Yorkshire in 1976.

Since then I’ve journeyed through many different places, situations, experiences and various churches in Yorkshire, Merseyside, Germany and East Sussex. In all places and at all times I’ve known the Lord’s gracious loving care and faithfulness.

After graduating as a teacher in Liverpool, I worked for 32 years in schools on the south coast. On early retirement, my family and I moved to Lincoln in 2013. We became members of a local church, and after 10 years the Lord called us to join LBC in 2023.

I believe in the importance of being a committed member of a Christ-centred, gospel-believing, -preaching, and -living local church, and have served as deacon, church secretary and elder in two of my former churches, with oversight of different ministry areas. My desire is to continue serving the Lord as He gives me opportunity, and to serve, encourage and support His people as He leads me.

Responsible for: tbc

When I came to faith as a teenager, at my baptism, I was given a text from 1 Colossians: ‘that you might live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.’ Alongside this verse I was also encouraged to serve the Lord, with my whole heart, wherever he might lead.

During a lengthy career in social work, I had management roles in both Children’s Services and Adult Social Care. I finished my working life managing 8 Local Authority Residential Homes for the elderly.

Most of you will know that I have been happily married to Dorothy for over forty years and we have two grown up sons.

Outside of church life I have always been a keen sportsman playing football, cricket, and tennis, although my current sporting activity is limited to a weekly round of golf. I have also recently started volunteering with St Barnabas Hospice.

My Christian service has mostly been based within LBC and my desire has always been to serve God wherever there has been a need, and I guess I have filled most roles within the church at various times apart from cooking!.

In many respects I thought my time on the Leadership Team had ended and was surprised when I was asked whether I was prepared to stand for election.

I could see that there was a need within the Leadership Team, particularly during the interregnum, for more help and was convicted that “retirement” is not an option for Christians, we are called to serve until He calls us home.
